Instructor: Eric M Wetzel, PhD Associate Professor at Auburn University’s McWhorter School of Building Science and Director of the Construction Automation, Robotics and Visualization (CARV) Lab
Navigating through the challenges of labor shortages, safety concerns, and productivity stagnation, the construction industry is positioned to take advantage of advancements to the many subsets of artificial intelligence. Dr. Wetzel will discuss the current state of A.I. in construction. The presentation will cover the applications of machine learning, robotics, and computer vision on construction sites. Joining Dr. Wetzel at the presentation will be “Mac” the Boston Dynamics Spot robot the CARV Lab uses for research, teaching, and outreach purposes. Pre-registration is requested.
